Road Construction and the Economy

 

June 22, 2009 - As the US government searches for ways to boost the economy, Local 1759 officers in northern Virginia say road construction projects are a strong way to create jobs and get economy moving.

Capital Air Lodge 1759 is an airline transportation local affiliated with Districts 141, 142, and 143 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO. Local 1759 represents over 2,300 ground service employees at United Airlines, US Airways, Piedmont Airlines, Delta/Northwest Airlines, British Airways, Alaska Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. Our members are employed at Washington National (DCA), Dulles International (IAD), Norfolk (ORF) and Richmond (RIC) Airports in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
